This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to set out, monitor and close down traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes in civil construction.
This is the much sought-after level II or “driver” qualification for traffic controllers. This ticket will give you the qualifications to set out, monitor and take down signage and devices in civil construction sites on roadways. Increase your hire-ability in the traffic control industry.
This unit applies to those working in supervisory roles. They generally work in teams in live traffic environments and hold some responsibility for the outcomes of others.
A supervisor-level course, where you will work in live traffic environments and hold some responsibility over various aspects of the traffic flow through the site. This certification is also relevant to those individuals working in a traffic environment where it is necessary to erect temporary signage without the use of the stop-slow bat to control traffic.
1 x Classroom day + 12 hours documented work practical

Students will require suitable Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills to complete the course successfully | Construction White Card | Previously completed RIIWHS205E
Skills must be demonstrated working individually in an environment that provides realistic in-depth, industry-validated scenarios and simulations to assess candidates’ skills and knowledge | Simulated assessment environments will include simulated real-life working environment where these skills and knowledge would be performed, with all the relevant equipment and resources of that working environment.

With the introduction of the Austroads Traffic Guide to Temporary Traffic Management being adopted nationwide, this course, which was once a Queensland-only certification, now offers the student the possibility of being employed anywhere in Australia with a simple and quick state-specific top-up course.
The terms Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Work Health and Safety (WHS) are equivalent and generally either can be used in the workplace. In jurisdictions where the National Model WHS Legislation has not been implemented registered training.
